Blacksmithing!
* Intiro (Dark Elf) 300 Smith 12% Mod, all salvage all Smithing AA's purchased. *Jeckyll (Barbarian) - 300 smith
OK so we know that Jeckell is a 300 Barb ... But how did you get there?
I worked with Taala to get started on smithing and this is basically what I did: (From memory)
- Went to my home town and completed a quest for a book used to make patterns (note: haven't used it yet)
- Went to the entrance to the library and from two vendors bought some books and scrolls that dealt with smithing recipies.
- You actually scribe these books. (Keep note of what you scribed so you don't buy it again)
- After scribing I went to the GH and open the forge.
- Now I was already at 80 or so in smithing from doing a lot of fletching
- I searched for "templates" and found Iridium Templates
- I selected the Iridium Plate Gauntlets (These only require one ore and triv at 127)
- Basically you combine till you hit 127 then either move to a harder item that uses Iridium or go to the next ore type.
- Every so often go back and check to see if you can aquire a new book with more recipes
- Also if you find a recipe that you like but cant search for do this:
- Click on the Forge then click "Experiment". The forge will collapse into the old lookng forge.
- Drop in (unstacked) the items from your recipe (like from eqtraders et et)
- Hit combine. Once you sucessfully make one item close the forge.
- Open the forge again, now type the name of the item you just created and click search.
- It will show up under Known Matching Recipes.
- click on it and select "Add" under Favorite Recipes. Now you can just click combine and auto-inventory
Ore / reagent - Ore is drop, the reagent is from vendors - Iridium / nitrous coal - Fulginate / Dull Black coal - Indium / Dark brown coal - Rubicite / Brown Nitrous coal
Best Places to gather Ore
- Fulginate - Twilite Sea, NW corner (Have to swim through the underwater tunnel)great drop rate ~ also good drop rate in Old Sebilis - Rubicite - Old Sebilis - Indium and Rhenium - PoN Hobgoblins / Greigs End has been pretty good at these two and a little Rubicite
To make a bracer (Cheapest thing)
- Buy - Plate bracer mold (stackable to 5) - Metal tempering (Vendor) - reagent (listed above for what I have used so far, though some - are way high for me if I get ore to drop I use it - Smithy hammer (Vendor, returned on failure) - Combine Ore with matching reagent from above
Now save me ore. Psyzing
